Special Liturgies

Baptism
According to the Book of Common Prayer, Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ’s Body, the Church, and inheritors of the kingdom of God. Both adults and infants are eligible for baptism in the Episcopal Church.

Please download our Application For Baptism here. Turn your completed application in to the church office, where it will be reviewed and a date for the Baptism scheduled.

Funerals
If you are faced with a death in your family, please contact the parish office immediately at (985) 345-2764. We are prepared to assist you with compassionate ministry and managing the details for burial. Please do not set the time for the funeral before contacting the clergy.

Planning a funeral can be a stressful time for family and loved ones. If you have given thought to your final wishes, a written record may be helpful. Click here to download our Worksheet For A Christian Funeral which may help in this process.

Healing Service
Periodically throughout the year Grace Memorial Episcopal Church may offer healing services and will announce when they will take place. Healing services take place during morning prayer on Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m.

Please click here for our calendar of events, including Grace Memorial’s service schedule.

Weddings
In the sacrament of Christian marriage, family and friends gather to witness the covenant by which a man and a woman pledge to each other a life-long union of fidelity and love. This union is blessed by God and receives the support of the Christian community.

Persons who come seeking this particular fulfillment of their call as members of the Body of Christ deserve the best Grace Memorial has to offer in terms of planning, preparation, and pastoral care.

Under no circumstances should a couple announce a date, print invitations, or otherwise encumber themselves with any other wedding plans until approval is given by the Rector of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church for the date and time of the wedding.

Various members of the congregation and staff will be involved in the wedding celebration, including the Rector, Grace Memorial’s wedding coordinator, organist, and others. We are here to assist you in your preparations and hope that you will feel free to call on us.

Please download our Wedding Booklet in order to help answer most of your questions about weddings at Grace Memorial. Read it carefully and present any further questions to the Rector at your first meeting.
